Repercussion is an ensemble whose main idea is musical performance using percussion instrumentation. The group moves freely in very different styles - from ethnic music through blues, jazz to compositions from the realm of contemporary classical music. An extremely interesting trend the group cultivates is "instrumental theatre", which consists of theatricalisation (visualisation) of instrumental playing. This trend is characterised by the use of everyday objects as instruments, elements of acting, stage movement and happenings.

The members of the ensemble are percussion graduates of the Academy of Music in Wrocław, who are active on the music market as performers and teachers. They have been working together as part of the Repercussion ensemble since 2009. They have to their credit numerous chamber music performances, including the CrossDrumming Festival in Warsaw, the International Percussion Forum in Żagań, the Drumbattle Rhythm Festival in Legnica, the Off Strand of the Review of Actor Songs in Wrocław, as well as extensive educational activities aimed at children and young people.

RUPIECI MUSIC or a concert for... everyday objects

The Repercussion Group invites the audience to a concert in which cymbals, pots, cutlery, computer keyboards and even basketballs are transformed into fully-fledged percussion instruments.

Music of the Rupees is an artistic project that is a contemporary development of an avant-garde trend that emerged in the 1960s called 'instrumental theatre'. Music of the Rupees is
a concert with elements of theatre (light, stage movement, acting), in which, before the eyes of the audience, everyday objects are transformed into fully-fledged instruments. The creativity of contemporary artists seems almost limitless - during the concert the audience will be able to see and, most importantly, HEAR: computer keyboards, basketballs and household appliances. The bodies of the performers and the audience will also become percussion instruments. The entire event will be complemented by multimedia projections referring to the theme of the concert and the nature of the music presented.

The following compositions were used in the concert: J. Cage 'Melody', E. Toch 'Geographical Fugue', F. Bach '4 Bodies music', S.G. Schmidt 'In the Office', W. Reifeneder 'Ball percussion', J. Muzioł 'Kitchen music', M. Dahms 'Build', R. Filz 'Beam Me Up'.

The concert is taking place as part of the Playing with Hope project, which aims to increase cultural inclusivity.
